  • January 29, 1924
    Snow storm blankets Alameda County.
  • 1925
    By this year, Castro Valley was ranked 2nd in the world in egg and hatchery production. Estimated population: 800,000 hens and 5,000 people.
  • January 15, 1927
    Original Dumbarton Bridge opens. Bridge is later rebuilt to alleviate traffic and safety concerns.
  • September 1927
    Oakland Airport (present North Field) is dedicated. Charles Lindbergh presides.
  • June 28, 1927
    First Transoceanic Flight Leaves Oakland.
