We are aware that our website visitors connect to the Internet at varying speeds. For this reason, we have established design standards to ensure that our web pages download quickly, even on a 28k modem. However, there are certain pages, documents, and forms on the website that are very large by their very nature; i.e. the County Budget. In such cases, we have taken the following steps to help you assess the time it takes to download them.
File Size
Where possible, we will indicate to you the size of a document, image, or form next to the link that opens it. This will give you some idea how long it will take to download the file before you open it.
Estimated Download Time
We are currently adding a popup window link to file sizes referenced on the website. This popup window determines the size of the file and gives you an estimated download time for several different connection speeds. This is only an estimate as your actual download time will vary depending upon network traffic, your computer speed, and the actual speed that you connect at. Here is a sample:
