Upon passage of a resolution as specified in Section 17.54.730 or upon receipt in proper form of a petition to reclassify property, the proposal shall be set for public hearing before the planning commission as required by state law. Such notice of the time and place of the hearing as is required by the government code of the state shall be given by the commission. The notice shall make known the nature and extent of the proposed amendment. (Prior gen. code § 8-103.3)
