Chapter 6.04 ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE CODE*
Section 6.04.020 Article 1— Administration, Section 101— General amended.
A.
Section 101.1 (Title) is amended to read:
This Code shall be known as the Alameda County Fire
Code, may be cited as such, and will
be herein referred to as this Code.
B.
Section 101.2.1.1 Scope. (Safety Standards) is added to this code to read:
The fire and life safety standards adopted by the State of
California Fire Marshal, as noted
within Title 19 and Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, shall apply to all occupancies
regulated by this Code.
C.
Section 101.3.1 (a) (Existing Conditions) is added to this code to read:
NFPA 101, 2000 edition is hereby recognized by this Code
as a guide for determining the
minimum levels of fire and life safety for existing buildings. The Fire Chief may require
additional measures other than those specified by NFPA 101 when deemed necessary, and need
not implement specific provisions of NFPA 101 when determined that other safety features of the
building have met the general intent for fire and life safety within existing buildings.
D.
Section 101.3 (b) is added to read as follows:
101.3(b) UFC Standards. The Standards related to the NFPA
codes shall be the NFPA
Standard as adopted by the State Fire Marshal including any more restrictive UFC amendments.
UFC Standard 10-1 shall mean Title 19 of the CA Code of Regulations.
