Section 6.04.060 Article 2— Definitions and Abbreviations, Section 207F amended.

    The definitions of “false alarm,” “fire chief” and “fire marshal” are added to Section 207 F, to read:

    FALSE ALARM means the activation of an alarm system through mechanical failure; malfunction; improper installation; maintenance or operation; or negligence of the owner, lessee, or their employees or agents. Such terminology does not include, for example, alarm activation caused by earthquake, violent storms, power fluctuations or other uncontrollable acts of nature.
    FIRE CHIEF shall mean and include the chief of any established fire protection district, fire department or firefighting organization organized under the provisions of the Government Code, the Health and Safety Code or the Public Resources Code of the State of California, or his designated representative. The term “Chief” or “Chief of the Fire Department” as noted in Section 204-C shall mean the same as Fire Chief.
    FIRE MARSHAL is the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
