Chapter 6.40 GARBAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
Section 6.40.440 Granting of license or permit.
The county health officer shall make an investigation and
inspection of the proposed dump site
and of the facts set forth in the application. If the county health officer finds that the applicant
will in fact comply with all the requirements of this article and with the provisions of Title 17,
Zoning, of this code and that the dump operations will be conducted in such a manner as to
accomplish the objects and purposes of this chapter, he shall issue a license and permit for such
site, subject to such reasonable conditions and limitations as are required under the
circumstances of the particular operation, showing the number of such permit and the year for
which issued. The permittee shall display in a conspicuous place on the dump site the license
issued therefor.
The board of supervisors hereby grants a license and permit
for the year ending December 31,
1954 covering each dump site in the unincorporated territory of the county which has been in
continuous operation for at least sixty (60) days immediately preceding the date of enactment of
this chapter; provided, however, that such license and permit shall be subject to revocation after
notice and hearing, as provided in Article VIII of this chapter, for failure to comply with the
requirements of this article, or for willful failure or refusal to furnish the county health officer
with the plan and report of operations required by Section 6.40.420 of this article within a
reasonable time after demand in writing that same be filed in his office. (Prior gen. code 3-69.5)
