Section 6.40.710 Local fire chief.

The local fire chief shall make regular inspection of any premises for which a license or permit has been issued under this chapter, and any other premises upon which he has reason to believe waste has collected or been deposited or stored in such manner and in such quantities as to constitute a fire hazard. For such purpose he shall have the power of a peace officer and may enter upon any premises in the unincorporated territory, except an occupied dwelling. When the local fire chief finds that a fire hazard exists upon such premises, he shall institute abatement proceedings pursuant to Article VIII of this chapter. For the purposes of enforcement of this section, the local fire chief shall exercise the same powers and duties as prescribed in Article VIII for the county health officer. (Prior gen. code 3-79.1)
