- 03/20/2014 Supervisor Chan Addresses Community Concerns Regarding Relocation of Probation Department(220KB) Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan met with residents of Oakland's Chinatown community on March 19 to reiterate and clarify that probation officers and their clients will not relocate to 1111 Jackson Street. An earlier plan proposed by County agencies to relocate probation officers and their clients to the Jackson Street location raised significant concern from the community. Supervisor Chan heard these concerns and worked with the County Administrator to find a better solution.

At a news event in Oakland, she and a team of local experts outlined the next generation of poverty fighting tactics based on lessons learned during the past 50 years. She also unveiled a new effort to use new technologies, including the first-of-its-kind Human Impact Budget website, to help end increasing poverty rates.
