Budget Updates

CAPITOL UPDATE - November 3, 2009 (54KB)*

This afternoon the Governor signed SB 65 and SB 67 - 10/19/09
SB 65 is the budget clean-up bill that makes changes to various deferrals in the budget. This includes changes the HUTA deferral to clarify the allocation of the revenue to cities and counties. SB 67 makes numerous clean-up changes to the Prop 1A securitization process. These changes allow for the issuance of the tax exempt bonds to proceed in November. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to hold harmless cities, counties and special district from the loss of property tax revenue loaned to the state pursuant to Prop 1A.

Governor Schwarzenegger just signed the budget. Attached is the summary from the Department of Finance. Details about the line-item-vetoes begin on page 43.
