Homeless Programs



Transitional Housing

Transitional Housing: Housing, where program participants have signed a lease or occupancy agreement, the purpose of which is to facilitate the movement of homeless individuals and families into permanent housing within 24 months or less.

SHP Transitional Housing Programs

HCD's transitional housing programs provide affordable housing and support services to assist homeless individuals and families make the transition to permanent housing.

  • Bessie Coleman Court/Alameda Point Transitional Housing: Alameda Point Collaborative operates the Bessie Coleman Court/Alameda Point Transitional Housing program, which provides 44 units of transitional housing for homeless families, with units prioritizing victims of domestic violence and families in recovery at Alameda Point.   • Banyan House Transitional Housing: The Family Emergency Shelter Coalition, (FESCO) operates a 24 bed transitional housing facility with on-site supportive services for eight families with children per year in the Cherryland district of unincorporated Alameda County.
