The Alameda County Child Care Planning Council advises and makes recommendations to policymakers to ensure that all children and families have access to quality child care that educates children and enriches their lives.

The vision of the Alameda County Child Care Planning Council is to be a guiding force for excellence in the care and education of all children and to be regularly sought out for our expertise by local, state and national decision makers.

The Child Care Planning Council, in partnership with the California School-Age Consortium and First 5 Alameda County is offering this Training and Consultation Resource Guide for early childhood programs seeking trainers and consultants whose expertise in the early care and education field can support agencies in meeting their professional development goals. The 2006 Alameda County Early Care and Education Needs Assessment Report
As part of the Early Care and Education For All planning process and as mandated by the state, this report describes the current status of child care supply and demand in Alameda County, and is intended to inform County child care policies and priorities with the most up-to-date county data. The report presents an overview of County demographics as well as child care-specific data, and analyses the supply, demand, costs, and experiences and challenges of special populations and the child care providers themselves.
