Vendors may be searched by business name, location, or SIC(Standard Industry Classification) code. The main Search will have all options, the Search by SIC description allows search by service/product description. Vendors may also be found by listings of:
Certified Small Businesses,
Certified Emerging Businesses, or
Vendor Listing by SIC Categories.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Search
|
- Click on "Search".
- Type in the fields that you want to search by.
- Click on "Find Vendors" button.
A list of vendors will appear on the screen.
- Click on "New Query" to return to "Query Menu".

Search By SIC Description
|
- Click on "Search By SIC Description".
- Type in the service or product in the description field.
You may need to generalize the service or product in order to get a match on the SIC code descriptions. You can also select the type of word matching, ie:
a. Match if your text appears 'Anywhere' in the SIC code description
(ex: 'table' returns 'vegetable', 'tables', 'table')
b. Match when 'Words begin with' your text
(ex: 'table' returns 'tables' 'table')
c. Match when the whole word match your 'Exact' text
(ex: 'table' returns 'table')
- Click on "Find Code."
A list of SIC codes with a brief description should appear on the screen.
- Pick a SIC code which meets your criteria and click on the "Go" button.
A list of vendors with a match on the SIC code will appear.
If a list does not appear, click on "New Query" to return to menu. You need to redefine your
search (i.e. printers, try "print") and run your query again.
- Click on "New Query" to return to "Query Menu".

Certified Small Businesses

- Click on "Certified Small Businesses".
- A list of vendors who are certified as small businesses will appear.
- Click on "New Query" to return to "Query Menu".

Certified Emerging Businesses
|
- Click on "Certified Emerging Businesses".
- A list of vendors who are certified as emerging businesses will appear.
- Click on "New Query" to return to "Query Menu".

Vendor Listing by SIC Categories
|
- Click on "Vendor Listing by SIC Categories".
- A list SIC code main categories is displayed.
- Click on a category to view sub-categories and/or a Vendor List.
- A list of sub-categories for the selected main category is displayed.
- Click on a sub-category to further narrow down the listing.
- When you see 'Vendor List', click on it to see the list of vendors in that category. Or you can continue to narrow listing by selecting another sub-category listed.
- You may continue to drill down (4 levels) or view a bigger Vendor Listing when you see 'Vendor List'.
