Alameda County is committed to taking meaningful action, creating visionary policies, and working with its partners to create a sustainable Alameda County.
The General Services Agency's comprehensive sustainability efforts include actions to:
- Fight global climate change
- Produce clean energy and conserve energy
- Reduce waste, reuse, recycle and compost
- Build and operate green buildings
- Reduce toxics
- Purchase alternative-fuel vehicles and environmentally preferable products
The Sustainability Program's vision for the County calls for:
- Walking the talk by greening County operations.
- Transforming policy at all levels of government.
- Connecting with our employees to engage them in moving the County towards sustainability.
- Building partnerships with other governments, businesses, and the community.
