Reasonable Accommodation

Alameda County is committed to hire, promote and retain qualified individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions. The county will assist applicants and employees in identifying and appropriate accommodation through a timely good-faith interactive process pursuant to the County's Reasonable Accommodation Policy and Procedures.

Submit a Request

Employees may initiate a request for reasonable accommodation in writing or verbally to their immediate supervisor. The reasonable accommodation needed must be identified and supporting medical documentation must be provided.

Alameda County will make every reasonable effort to provide accommodations to employees in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), and the County's Reasonable Accommodation Policy and Procedures.

Applicants/Candidates may request a reasonable accommodation to take an Alameda County examination and/or participate in the departmental hiring interview process. To request a reasonable accommodation, you must notify the Human Resource Representative listed on the examination announcement. The reasonable accommodation request must be made as soon as possible and before the last day to file in order to mmake necessary arrangements during each step of the examination process.
