From I-880 San Jose, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland International Airport Northbound
Continue on I-880 North to the Oak Street exit. At the light turn right and drive
up Oak five blocks to 12th Street. Courthouse is located at 12th and Oak Streets.
From I-580
Follow I-580 to the I-980 connector and continue on to I-880. Exit on Jackson Street, t
urn left at the first light and drive up Jackson to 13th Street and make a right turn. The
Courthouse is two blocks from Jackson at 13th and Oak Streets.
From I-80 San Francisco, San Mateo
From the Bay Bridge/Berkeley-Emeryville area, follow directions to I-580 to the I-980 connector
to I-880. Exit on Jackson Street, turn left at the first light and drive up Jackson to
13th Street and make a right turn. The Courthouse is two blocks from Jackson at 13th and Oak Streets.
BART-Fremont Line
Exit at the Lake Merritt station on 9th and Oak Street. The Courthouse is three blocks east
of the BART station at 12th and Oak Streets.
Parking
The County parking garage, Alcopark, is located on Jackson Street between 12th Street and 13th
Street. The rate is $6.00 per day.
From I-580 and I-80, follow instructions above. From I-880 South, follow directions to 12th and
Jackson Streets. Parking garage is on Jackson Street between 12th and 13th Streets.

From I-880 Oakland, Berkeley, Southbound
Take I-880 South to the Winton Avenue exit, Hayward. Follow the signs "East" as the exit
ramp makes a 270 degree turn. Follow Winton Avenue East past the first traffic light. Go
past the Hayward Police Department on the right and turn right in the second driveway, in
front of the Winton Avenue Alameda County Office Building. The library is in the northeast
wing, room 162.
From I-880 Fremont, San Jose, Northbound
Take I-880 North to the Winton Avenue exit, Hayward. Follow the signs "East" as the
exit ramp turns right. Follow Winton Avenue East past the first traffic light, and
past the Hayward Police Department on the right. Turn right in the second driveway,
in front of the Winton Avenue Alameda County Office Building. The library is in the
northeast wing, room 162.
From I-580 and Hwy. 238 Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Westbound
Take I-580 West to the junction with Hwy. 238 North. Stay in the left lanes of I-580 which
becomes Hwy. 238, and go approximately 2 ½ miles West. Follow the signs to I-880 Southbound.
Exit Hwy. 238 on the right and follow the long curved on-ramp to I-880. Go South approximately
2 ½ miles to the Winton Avenue exit, Hayward. Follow the signs "East" as the exit ramp makes

of the Winton Avenue Alameda County Office Building. The library is in the northeast

From Hwy. 92 Peninsula Cities, San Mateo and Palo Alto, Eastbound
Take the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, Hwy. 92, East across the San Francisco Bay and continue
approximately one mile past the junction with I-880. Hwy. 92 turns into a surface street
heading northeast into Hayward. At the first signal, Santa Clara, turn left. Go approximately
four blocks North until you reach Winton Avenue, then turn right. Go past the Hayward Police
Department on the right and turn right in the second driveway, in front of the Winton Avenue
Alameda County Office Building. The library is in the northeast wing, room 162.
BART – Fremont/Richmond Line
When you arrive at the Hayward BART station, you may take A.C. Transit buses the last
mile-and-a-half to the South County Branch. A.C. Transit buses 86 and 92 both go to Winton
Avenue. When possible, take the 86 bus, as it is more direct. BART-to-AC bus transfer discounts
should be available when you're leaving the BART station. The bus stops on the north side
of Winton Avenue, across from the Winton Avenue Alameda County Office Building. Take the
crosswalk across the street, and enter the building at the nearest door to the left.
[NOTE: If you require wheelchair access, enter the second door on the left.] The law
library is in room 162. Both BART and AC Transit are disabled accessible.
Parking
There is public parking in front of the Alameda County Office Building on the Winton Avenue
side. Additional public parking is available in the parking structure on Amador Street
across from the courthouse. To enter the parking structure, turn right on Amador Street
from Winton Avenue and go to the first stop sign, Elmhurst Avenue. Turn left and follow
the signs until you reach the parking structure's entrance.
