| When you travel a local street or a County-maintained road, cross an estuary bridge between the cities of Oakland and Alameda, or enjoy creeks or flood-free winters, you benefit from just a few of the services that the Alameda County Public Works Agency provides.
The Public Works Agency is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of Alameda County. We plan, design, and inspect construction of County road and flood projects. We assist in the planning of new subdivisions, commercial developments, and infrastructure. The Public Works Agency also plays a crucial role in responding to the needs of the public in the aftermath of devastating storms and other general emergencies. And we do it all without forgetting the public in Public Works.

Pedestrian Walkway Closed
Park Street Bridge: “Due to a traffic collision that damaged a pedestrian barrier to the pedestrian walkway on the South side of Park Street Bridge, the sidewalk and bridge pedestrian walkway between Glascock Street in City of Oakland and Blanding Avenue in City of Alameda is closed for repair until further notice. The sidewalk and walkway on the North side will remain open for pedestrian access. Should you have any questions, please contact Ken Sequeira at (510) 535-0475.”
