Objective |
The Commission shall advise and assist the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to veterans and their families as may pertain to meeting their needs for veteran's benefits, housing, food; shelter, transportation, and employment. |

Meetings |
Meetings occur monthly, on the 3rd Monday, from 10 am to 12 pm. The meeting site alternates. Contact the Commission staff for more information. |
Qualifications |
Veteran must be honorably discharged from the military service; be a registered voter of the County of Alameda; all qualifying requirements for seats representing organizations must be verified by the organizations they represent and by the nominating committee. |

Two representatives of the American Legion; two representatives of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; two representatives of the Vietnam Veterans of America; two representatives of Disabled American Veterans; one representative of American Veterans of Wars, AMVETS; two representatives of Women Veterans (Members at Large); one representative of the Marine Corp League; one representative of the Iraq/Afghanistan Veterans of America; one representative of the Military Officers Association of America; one representative of District 1 (Member at Large); one representative of District 2 (Member at Large); one representative of District 3 (Member at Large); one representative of District 4 (Member at Large); one representative of District 5 (Member at Large); two representatives of veterans who are not otherwise affiliated with a chartered veteran's organization (Members at Large); and one nonveteran representative of widows and dependents of veterans that is a non-voting advisory position (Member at Large). |
