COVID-19 Vaccination Status

We Need Your Help: We again thank our valued employees for your ongoing dedication and commitment, throughout this pandemic, to serve and protect our communities. The accomplishments you have achieved and the added safety measures you have taken during these very difficult times are remarkable. As the highly transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread, we ask that employees take the next step in our shared responsibility to protect our communities and our workplace by confirming your vaccination status.

Beginning October 8, 2021, all employees who have received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine are asked to do one of the following:

• All employees who are vaccinated, please input your COVID-19 vaccination information and upload your proof of COVID-19 vaccination into the County's Alcolink HRMS system (by following the Alcolink Job Aid) by or before Friday, October 15, 2021.
• All employees who are vaccinated but unable to upload documents to the County's Alcolink HRMS system, please submit your proof of COVID-19 vaccination to your agency's Human Resources Office by or before Friday, October 15, 2021.

NOTE: Employees who have already submitted proof of vaccination, and provided certification that it is true and correct, are not requested to resubmit proof. All employees who have not uploaded their proof of COVID-19 vaccination into the County’s Alcolink HRMS system, or submitted it to their agency's Human Resources Office, by or before Friday, October 15, 2021, will be deemed "unvaccinated" based upon the County’s inability to confirm vaccination status, and pending next steps.

The County is actively engaged with our labor partners to implement a new policy to keep both our workforce and communities safe as we continue to provide essential public services. The County plans to roll out the new policy shortly. But, in the interim, this data collection effort is a key step. All you are asked to do at this juncture is to provide information confirming COVID-19 vaccination status in the manner explained above. You will receive information at a later date regarding any next steps and timetables. Failure to comply with this request by October 15, 2021, will not be cause for disciplinary action, but you are strongly encouraged to comply as part of our ongoing safety efforts. We appreciate your cooperation and assistance with this important request.

Thank You, Vaccinated Employees: County employees have in many ways, and for many years, reflected the communities we serve. With more than 78% of Alameda County's residents (12 years of age and older) now fully vaccinated, our communities have demonstrated their faith in the health protections COVID-19 vaccines provide. And so, to the majority of employees who are already fully vaccinated—we thank you! You have taken the single most important step necessary for our journey back to recovery.

Get the Facts: Like many other jurisdictions throughout California, COVID-19 cases, and hospitalizations in Alameda County are primarily among unvaccinated individuals. Statistics from the California Department of Public Health (available here: https://covid19.ca.gov/state-dashboard/) indicated that within a one (1) week period, from September 5, 2021, to September 11, 2021, unvaccinated people were 8.0 times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people. Vaccinating as many people as quickly as possible, is the best defense against COVID-19 and will help save lives in our communities and amongst our work force.

Get Vaccinated: To those who are not yet vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to get your vaccine as quickly as possible. Being vaccinated helps protect you, your loved ones, the public, and those with whom we share the work environment. This includes those in our workplace and communities who are more susceptible to the virus and/or are unable to be vaccinated.
