Frequently Asked Questions
  Question:
Who can I contact regarding questions about the inmate information?
  Answer:
Please call the Sheriff's Office at the Santa Rita Jail, (925) 551-6500. Please note that due to the high volume of calls, there may be an extended wait time.
  Question:
What is the purpose of the text image containing letters and/or numbers?
  Answer:
The text image is used to confirm that the user is a person and not another computer. This helps us protect the web site from automated software that can perform actions which can slow down the system.
  Question:
Why am I getting the message, "The letters and/or numbers typed did not correspond to the image displayed. Please try again."?
  Answer:
The text displayed in the image was not typed exactly as shown in the input box provided.
  Question:
Why am I getting the message, "An error has occurred in the system. Please try your request again later."?
  Answer:
The system encountered an unexpected error. This could be caused by network and/or database issues. You may need to come back later to retry your request.
  Question:
Why am I getting the message, "There were no inmates that match the search criteria."?
  Answer:
We were unable to locate any record(s) that match the criteria provided. Verify that the search criteria was entered accurately. If searching by name and unsure of the spelling of the last name, click the soundex checkbox. This will find names that are similar to the last name entered.
  Question:
Why am I getting the message, "The previous search results have expired due to session timeout. Please try again."?
  Answer:
The session established in the beginning of your search has ended. This is usually caused by browser inactivity for an extended period of time.
  Question:
Why is the View Details button disabled (i.e. greyed out)?
  Answer:
The person is not in custody. The details can only be shown for those people who are in custody.
  Question:
Why is the View Aliases button disabled (i.e. greyed out)?
  Answer:
The person does not go by any other name other than the one already displayed.
  Question:
Does the Inmate Locator support wild card searches?
  Answer:
No. Wild cards could cause the search function to slow to an unacceptable level, and we want to keep performance fast.
