Gilda Gonzales has served as a leader in government, the nonprofit world and currently as President of the Port of Oakland's Board of Commissioners. She began her career as a State Assembly Fellow in the California State Legislature. She served 14 years at Oakland City Hall, working as a key advisor to Mayors Elihu Harris and Jerry Brown, and City Manager Robert Bobb. Gilda is the former CEO of the Unity Council, a non-profit community development corporation enriching life in Oakland's Fruitvale District. As Oakland Port Commission President, Gilda plays a pivotal role in decisions central to the operations of a world-class container port, a thriving airport, an array of retail and commercial buildings and acres of recreational and open space.
