My Story

Monica Anderson serves as a mentor and role model for young women seeking an exit from the devastating spiral of sex trafficking. Her participation in an award-winning Youth Radio series about youth exploited through the commercial sex trade raised awareness nationally about this issue and the ravages it brings to our community. Most importantly, Monica inspires us all to remember that we can put our lives' most difficult chapters behind us. Kidnapped at age 15 and subjected to the abuse of others who sought to trade in on her youth and innocence for money, Monica found her way to a new place. Today, she is a doting mother who works to help youth experiencing sexual abuse and dating violence, carving out the time as well for her studies to become a paralegal.
