Overview Employer Pull Notice Program

On May 10, 2011, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors adopted a revised Vehicle Use Policy (Administrative Code Chapter 3-32). One of the changes under the revised Policy is Pull Notice Program Subsection 3.32.060 that requires all County employees who are required to drive as part of their job duties to participate in the Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program. The EPN Program was established per California Vehicle Code 1808 to provide employers and regulatory agencies with a means of promoting driver safety through the ongoing review of driver records. Through an agreement between the County of Alameda and the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the DMV notifies the County if there is any activity on an employees driving record that limits or prevents him/her from operating a motor vehicle.
