On April 26, the County received a 2012 Green California Leadership Award (PDF - 642kb) * at the Green California Summit in Sacramento. The Green California Leadership Awards recognize successful state and local government environmental projects implemented in California during 2011. Alameda County was the winner in the category of "Pioneer" for our program of Comprehensive Climate Action for Government Operations and Services.

In January, Alameda County Sustainability was honored with a Technology of Participation® Champion Award by the Institute of Cultural Affairs and Technology of Participation Network. This award recognizes broad staff engagement in the development and implementation of the County's internal Climate Action Plan, such as 500+ suggestions submitted by employees and involvement of 20 agencies through their Agency Climate Coordinators.
