Transportation Services Recognized as Sustainability All-Star

(October 2011) Green Fleet Magazine has named Alameda County General Service Agency's Transportation Services Manager, Doug Bond, as a "Sustainability All-Star" at this year's Green Fleet Conference in Dallas. The award honors significant sustainability achievements, professional longevity, and innovation in reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

The County also was named the 23rd Greenest Fleet in North America, our third year being recognized as one of the 25 greenest fleets in North America. The Government Fleet Award recognizes federal, state, and local fleets that demonstrate sustainable practices in fleet composition, fuel and emissions, policy and planning, fleet utilization, education, and executive and employee involvement. California was strongly represented with 11 of the top 40 fleets in North America from the state. The City of Oakland received an Honorable Mention.
