Fairview Area Specific Plan Update

Project Description

The Fairview Area Specific Plan provides detailed planning policy for the Fairview area through land use, circulation, development, environmental, infrastructure, and implementation policies. The original Plan was adopted in 1980 and was last updated in 1997. The goal for the update of the Plan is to address community concerns by developing strong policies and standards to address new development pressures in an environmentally sensitive area. The County is not seeking major land use changes to the general plan or zoning, but a focus on protecting the semi-rural character of Fairview through thoughtful, easily understandable development policies and standards that ultimately will serve as zoning for future development projects.

A Working Draft of the updated Plan has been under review by the Fairview Municipal Advisory Council (FMAC) since March 2019. In May 2020, the FMAC recommended release of the Plan and its accompanying environmental review document as public review drafts. These documents can be accessed at the links below. Comments on the IS/MND will be accepted through July 10, 2020.
