At the direction of the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Department has undertaken a review of existing county policies applicable to the development of Solar Energy Facilities (SEF), as well as consideration of new policies to facilitate and inform the review of proposed SEFs. At the November 10th Board of Supervisors Transportation and Planning Committee meeting, the committee directed staff to initiate a public process to amend the County General Plan for this purpose. This process will include a series of public meetings beginning in January 2012 to provide opportunities for input from the community. We welcome your participation in these meetings.
