Various cities within Alameda County provide assistance for first-time and/or low-income homebuyers. On a city-by-city basis, down payment assistance, silent second mortgage programs or below market rate units may be available to assist you in purchasing a home. Multiple local governments in the East Bay received Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds to rehabilitate and re-sell foreclosed upon homes. You can access more information about Alameda County NSP or you can go directly to the homehub website where NSP-funded homes are listed.
Alameda County Mortgage Credit Certificate Program
On a Countywide basis, the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program (MCC) is available to assist qualified first-time homebuyers to afford the mortgage on their first home. Please visit the MCC page for more information.
